Important Information
School Hours
School begins at: 9:05 a.m.
School is dismissed at: 3:45 p.m.
There will be no adult supervision until 8:30 a.m., unless you are paying to have your child enrolled in the YMCA Childcare Enrichment Program (CEP). If a child is eating breakfast, he or she should arrive by 8:50 a.m. to finish by 9:05 a.m.
Tardiness/Early Dismissal
Any students arriving after 9:05 a.m. should report to the office before going to the classroom. Tardiness does count against a student's having perfect attendance. We encourage you to try to schedule your child's doctor and dental appointments around school hours. If this is not possible, you must come to the office first to check your child out of school. No child will be released directly from the classroom. A note to the classroom teacher would be greatly appreciated. No student is to leave the school grounds without permission from the office. Students who are checked out of school before the end of the day must also be counted as tardy on attendance records.
Other Transportation

At any time a student is to go home other than the usual way, the student must have written permission, signed by the parent or guardian and approved by the office. If there is not written permission, the student will be sent home by the usual method.

School Breakfast and Lunch

Breakfast and lunch are served in our school's cafeteria every day.

Applications for free and reduced-price meals are available through the JCPS Nutrition Services office or website if you did not receive one in the mail. You may call JCPS Nutrition Services at 485-7080

Menus are sent home monthly or, to view online, click here for our breakfast menu, and click here for our lunch menu. Occasionally, these menus have to be changed due to deliveries. Students may, of course, bring lunch from home.

We expect all students to eat lunch. Students are permitted to charge lunch if they have forgotten or lost money. It is expected that the charge will be paid the next school day. If you would like to prepay for your child's lunch, contact the lunchroom manager.

Medication Policy
Medicine, including aspirin, cannot be administered by the teacher. Students who need to take prescribed medication must have the appropriate form signed by a physician and parent. Medication and the form will be kept in the office and administered from there.
Accidents/Injuries
If your child is injured at school, we will make him or her comfortable and then call you immediately. If you cannot be reached, we will attempt to contact the emergency numbers that you listed on the enrollment form. EMS will be called in extreme emergencies. Please be sure that the school office has a new enrollment sheet each year with your emergency phone numbers in addition to your home/work phone numbers.
